Step by step installing & Configuring Plesk on Ubuntu 16.04

Plesk -
Parallels Plesk Panel or just Plesk, in short, is known as one of the most multi-functional Control Panels on the planet. It goes far beyond the capabilities of the regular web-based tools for managing the server resources your sites need to exist. Plesk is a complete multi-level hosting platform Control Panel, giving the server administrator a wide range of graphic-interface options to set up and maintain a whole hosting business serving the end customer. It is just as good for configuring shared hosting solutions as it is for setting up virtual and dedicated servers. The operating systems supporting Plesk include Fedora, Red Hat, Debian, FreeBSD, SuSE, CentOS, Ubuntu, and Windows.

  • Create and manage databases such as MySQL and PostgreSQL

Installation -
Plesk can be installed through two method
1- automatic with one-click-installer
2- Custome installation
Download Plesk installer -
Download latest Plesk installer from the official Plesk website. Plesk required freshly installed Ubuntu server. follow the steps below to complete the installation.
$ sh <(curl https://autoinstall.plesk.com/plesk-installer || wget -O - https://autoinstall.plesk.com/plesk-installer)
Next Screen- Select Plesk Stable version press 3 and then press F to proceed the installation. 
Next Screen- Let the option 1 selected Recommended installation type and press F to proceed the installation.
Next Screen - Accept the installation of the new package on your Ubuntu machine by pressing F buttion.
Over to Next screen let the installation get compete. After successful installation of your Plesk control panel, you can access it by Server IP followed by port number 8443.

Follow the steps below to complete the post-installation configuration -

Select Corporate/ Business Use and Power User View 

Next Screen choose a Full hostname, default Server IP and Admin password


On the Next screen Fill the Administrator information and choose OK

At this Screen set your Domain name, IP, user and password.
Over this screen enter the activation code and choose Ok to apply for the license.

All set your Plesk installation has completed successfully. Now, you can start using it.

Troubleshooting - If during installation of Plesk, you are getting any error, You can have a look at logs file at any time using second terminal access.
 $ tail -f /var/log/plesk/install/plesk_17.5.3_installation.log
